Recognising the shortage of affordable land in Broome, the State Government’s LandCorp in conjunction with the Shire of Broome and the traditional owners have created the first affordable housing estate located in Broome North.
Known as Waranyjarri Estate it will provide housing, business opportunities and community facilities for the future expansion of the town. Plans include a primary school, network of walking and cycle paths, public open spaces, a service station and convenience stores. When fully developed, the estate could be home to up to 13,000 residents.
