Greg has over 30 years experience in business and property investment. He has spent most of the last decade in the finance and property investment industry assisting Onyx clients to build their wealth through property. He has also managed property investment projects in Victoria and Queensland. Greg is a member of the Mortgage Finance Association of Australia and an Accredited Mortgage Consultant and enjoys extensive business networks across the country. He has a background in the printing, publishing, marketing and communications industries, in which he built and sold several businesses.

Paul Thewlis

Managing Director

Paul has spent the last 25 years providing professional services to small businesses, organisations and individuals in the areas of finance, business services and information technology. He has qualifications in mortgage consulting, financial planning and science. Paul is a member of the Mortgage Finance Association of Australia and an Accredited Mortgage Consultant. Paul has primary responsibility to arranging finance for Onyx clients and managing the professional services delivery of the company. Paul is valued by Onyx clients for his finance strategy advice.

Ruby Janssen

Ruby Janssen purchased her first 5 investment properties before her 21st birthday on wages of $5.13 per hour. In the 10 years since, Ruby has established herself in the top 1% of property investors in Australia and is a highly respected property entrepreneur, professional investor and mentor.

She inspires investors to take action, get results and create extraordinary outcomes. Ruby is on a mission to empower Australian property investors to step up to a new level of success by being a shining example of possibility, allowing others to do the same.

Ron Monroe

Ron Monroe has over 30 years experience as a qualified legal practitioner in Australia and New Zealand. He has extensive experience in conveyancing, wills, estate planning, mortgage finance administration, and property law. Ron can assist both property buyers and sellers with the legal requirements of a property sale, and can assist property owners with other property law matters such as sub-divisions. He can assist with risk management by preparing wills, powers of attorneys and legal documentation associated with risk management.

Maggie Hardy

Maggie has extensive experience in internal and client accounting with a particular focus on management accounting and company secretarial services for private, listed public and unlisted public companies across a range of industries. She also has experience in public accounting and financial planning. Maggie can assist Onyx clients with the establishment and maintenance of company registers and the preparation and lodgment of documentation required by the ASIC, ATO, and Australian Stock Exchange.

Iris Wang

Finance Products and Processes Manager

Iris has been working with property investors since 2001 and she has been an active property investor herself since 2002. After establishing her own mortgage broking company and operating it for three years she joined the Onyx Team. Iris is a member of the Mortgage Finance Association of Australia and is responsible for loan product analysis and managing loan processing at Onyx. Her experience with working face-to-face with property investors in Victoria and Queensland combined with her extensive knowledge of loan products ensures Onyx provides quality finance strategies for our clients.

Rebecca Clough

Sales Support Manager

Rebecca has been a valued member of the Onyx team for nearly four years and has performed a variety of roles with the company including assisting clients with post-settlement enquires, loan processing, property investment project administration and sales support. She is well known to Onyx clients for her friendly manner and high service standards. Rebecca is currently assisting clients with the purchase of properties approved under the Government's National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS).

Courtney Wareham

Customer Service Officer

Courtney has a background in administration and working with clients in the personal services industry. She is responsible for assisting clients with post-settlement enquiries related to their loans and with assisting with conveyancing services.

Melanie Thewlis

Communications Manager

Melanie has a background in helping non-government organisations achieve their goals through donor relationship building, targeted media campaigns and raising public awareness of relevant issues. She holds qualifications in political science and teaching. Her role at Onyx involves developing and implementing the Onyx communication strategy to allow Onyx to leverage emerging technologies and social media to better inform, listen to and assist its client base.
